Florence, Mercato Centrale

The central market was built in 1874 and I believe that nowadays only tourists are visiting it. Well, if I was living in Florence I would just avoid it.

However it is amazing, full of fruits and vegetables, full of cheeses and fish. And a best place for a super quick takeaway pasta. Look for La Primeria. This little shop has two sides – on one side you can buy freshly made pasta and the other side you can buy cooked one and taste it. The concept is super simple: for 5-6 euros you chose your pasta, your sauce and you also get some parmesan cheese. No drinks, nothing, just the food. Sometimes all you need is this.
So many happy people were around stuffing pasta into their faces. J
