Buchmesse, Frankfurt

Flags of the Book Fair by the main entrance in Frankfurt.
Visiting first time the biggest Book Fair in the world. No need to say
time was not enough to see all we wanted. Browsing the newest and most
beautiful art books in the world was quite a unique experience though.

Stadel Museum Frankfurt: Schwarze Romantik

On the way to the museum - lovely area of Frankfurt indeed.
The entrance of the Stadel Museum.
Arriving a day before the opening of the Book Fair in Frankfurt gave us some time to visit a museum, too. As we work for the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest - we wanted to visit something similar to our museum so me and my colleague decided on visiting the Stadel Museum and to see their exhibition Schwarze Romantik - Dark Romaticism, from Goya to Max Ernst. The exhibition focuses on the dark aspect of Romaticism and is very gloomy and disturbing sometimes - but no regret visiting it. More than 200 works are on display by Goya, Delacroix, Blake, Dali, Magritte, Klee and Ernst just to name a few.

After closing the exhibition will travel to the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. (from March 2013)
