J’adore cette ville. I just can’t get enough of Marrakech, such a cool city.
After a longer break here we are again. Why this city? Honestly, I cannot really explain but there is something that keeps me calling. Any time I try to describe it to people who never visited Marrakech I explain it as a mixture of old and new, a mixture of dust and heat.
I still remember my first evening in the city: our plane was quite late but we still wanted to go to the main square, Jemaa el-Fnaa. Arriving from a western city the noise and the chaos hit me. Hit me, but in a good way, I had a feeling that actually I am an actress and this is a film. Any time I am there or just remember the city I recall this feeling.
I want to go back again but next time I will pick my dates more carefully. This was the second time that we left the city as an art fair or biennial just opened. One day the streets are full of tourists but the day as the art events start, the city changes completely. You really can see who came for the arts.
