Venice by Török Viktória |
The preview of the Biennale was fantastic. We arrived home at dawn. The streets of Budapest were still busy with all the youngsters in between parties.
My luggage was 10 kg heavier because of the books I brought home with me. I want to organise all my papers, press releases, catalogues in the coming weeks – have to do the same with those 400 pictures I took in Venice. A few months ago I started to create a big folder with all the press releases from exhibitions – it is organised by the artist. In a couple of years it will be a great reference that I can use any time.
The city was like one massive gallery. Churches turned into art spaces, bright coloured stickers on the pavement to find the right doors on the narrow streets. Hidden gardens became the best places to party.
I still smell the flowers of the Giardini. It is some sort of very strong smell, like honey from the blossom of the bushes on the water front. That must be the smell of the Biennale.
