One day before our departure Bristol airport
was closed due to massive snow. We were lucky as next day the snow stopped and
they could clean the airport. For our last day all the snow melted but we had
the chance to see the country side all white. This is something one cannot see
all the time in the UK.
What made me laugh that I saw a lot of snow men in the
city but never alone always with a snow dog. J In this country people like their
dogs so much.
We have visited this beautiful small village
next to Bath and had a wonderful afternoon there. Bradford on Avon is so small;
basically one day would be enough to see all of the sights there.
Try to have lunch at the river side as the view
is magnificent there. However for cakes you need to go to the oldest cake shop (The
Bridge Tea Rooms) in the middle of the town. All the cakes are homemade and the
lady who makes them actually serves them too. Be aware of the huge portions,
you will love them, though...
Bath is part of my life as it is my sister’s
home town. I hardly do any sightseeing there anymore but this time my best
friend came over from Watford and we had a mini tour of the city. Obviously we
had to see the Abbey and the river Avon too.
