The Hungarian
artist Tibor Csernus (1927 – 2007) lived and worked most of his time in Paris.
Years ago his studio was transferred to Hungary and now it is open to public at
the Castle Garden Bazaar in Budapest.
Csernus
developed a new painting style called sur-naturalism that is based on thick
painted surfaces and surrealistic effects. He also designed posters and made a
lot of illustrations for various publications. His works were inspired by
Caravaggio and William Hogarth.
I took a few
pictures in the reconstructed studio. As I love art books I was very much
interested in the books he had.
